Kids Socks
Design and product development for winter range of kids fashion and novelty socks. Retailed throughout Australia at Big W and
Best & Less.
For Winter 2023, colours were drawn from forecast colour palettes in WGSN, featuring lavender, warm pinks, cobalt blue and ginger.
Design motifs were researched by looking at kidswear graphic trends in the UK and USA. Girls designs featured woodland bunnies and unicorns, whilst boys showed dinosaurs, gaming and camouflage prints were popular.
As these socks come in four sizes with variable heights, two designs were drawn to ensure all sizes had good placement of motifs.
Drawn in Adobe Illustrator and then each stitch was mapped out with graphs in Colour Matters.
Each design had multiple colourways, so that popular designs could be sold by different retailers. The bunny design was done with a both a pink and a lavender base.
This was a successful winter range for Underworks with more designs on range and more socks sold than previous years.
