Sunny Patch App
Concept and design for UX UI Design Elevate course. User experience design, user interface design, illustration, user testing and prototyping for an imaginary gardening and sun tracking app.

Discover the problem

The project began by finding a user experience problem to solve. In this case, users may find plenty of gardening apps, but none that utilise sun path features.
After researching gardening apps, user interviews were conducted and an affinity map created to gather insights from potential users. Next a persona was created and the customer's journey mapped out.

Define the user

After exploring the problem space, ideation began with brain writing and crazy 8s exercises. This was followed by card sorting, information architecture and wireframes.

Develop the app

A moodboard influenced the colour palette and UI component assets. This led to low, mid and high-fidelity designs.
Usability testing was undertaken on a clickable prototype to further refine the app and uncover areas for improvement.
